Psychotherapy starts with a thorough assessment to understand who you are, how you became the person you are, what you value, and why you value it. With this we can better connect and get you to where you want to be. We focus on strengths you already posses to help move forward to finding solutions.
Psychotherapy with minors consists of an initial parent session to learn about the minor's history and continues with individual sessions with the child/adolescent. Additional parent-guidance sessions are scheduled as needed.
Psychotherapy sessions typically last 45-55 minutes.
Teletherapy is delivered through a virtual, HIPAA compliant, platform, or via phone. It is beneficial for a range of people, for a diverse set of circumstances or experiences. Overall, the research does support that teletherapy is just as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy. Teletherapy makes therapy more accessible to people, offers greater flexibility, reduced wait times, and allows clients to talk in the comfort of their home.
A comprehensive psychological assessment includes an initial intake session, during which a detailed history is gathered. Present concerns will be examined, and testing procedures will be explained. Psychological testing usually consists of intelligence testing, achievement testing, neurodevelopmental testing, as well as personality testing. The testing process generally lasts 4-8 hours and is separated into different testing sessions. The final session, the feedback session, will consist of reviewing and discussing the test results and recommendations. Clients, or parents of minors, will have the opportunity to get all of their questions answered and are provided with a written report.
